Yup, can be completely normal. I had period-like pain every day for the first 8 - 10 weeks. They were intermittent, like yours, but quite uncomfortable. At one stage it got so bad it really freaked me out and I rushed off to the doc (in tears, sure I was losing bubs) and they sent me for an ultrasound. And there was my little 6-week-old blob bobbing away in there with a nice, strong heart-beat!
Both sonographer and doc said it is normal to get pains from uterus and surrounding ligaments stretching. This is usually only concerning if it is a) accompanied by bleeding, or b) getting significantly stronger and more regular. This generally put my mind at ease but they said it was fine to come in for a check if I was worried - it's better to be sure, rather than freaking out, not sure how to judge what you're experiencing.
Congrats on your pregnancy hun, hope it's a wonderful, healthy and joyous one.
Congrats on your news,
Does the pain feel like dull period type cramps or feel like you need to do number twos?
This is what I felt in those early days when my uterus was stretching to accomodate bubs.I still do from time to time.
If youre really concerned see your doctor, He/she will put your mind at ease. But it sound pretty normal to me but Im no doctor.
