I just had to post to get this off my chest. We were just in a car accident. Waiting to turn right and a guy slammed into the back of us. I'm 4 weeks, 3 days and was terrified. Luckily an off duty police woman pulled over and helped me, she could see I wasn't feeling crash hot. Helped so much to have her there to calm me down. Hubby and I are both ok but I was terrified something could have happened to the baby. I MADE myself calm down and relax and kept saying to myself that the baby will be ok.
I wasn't knocked around too badly, my head hurts as the head rest hit me and threw me forward. I have no cramping or anything so I'm sure bub is ok.
Thanks so much. I'm a bit upset still, we had only just finished paying off the car, was a $33 000 car that market value is now $19000 and it looks like it will be written off, at least we weren't at fault so won't have to pay an access or anything.
So shaken, I am just glad I can come here and talk as it really helps. Taking a few deep breaths and trying to be calm :-) This baby means a lot after 8mth ttc.
Roquen. As someone else has said - your bubba is very well protected at this point in the pregnancy and so will be quiet safe. At this point, everything is still nicely tucked within your pelvis. I was kicked directly in the stomach at about 14 weeks and was told bubs would be ok because they were still nestled inside my pelvis. And right now she is on the floor in front of me screeching at the top of her lungs - just because she can If you are at all worried though - please contact your caregiver and discuss this with them. I'm really sorry you've experienced this. H&H PG to you.
As MG said, that baby is nestled so deep inside you that it is hard to shift - lots of people don't realise they're pregnant at your early stage and do loads of stupid things (like help fit a new bathroom...) and the baby is cushioned in their against the mother's lack of awareness of them.
Try to sort out the insurance ASAP - for us, I had an accident 2 months ago, going to be another 4 months (earliest estimate) before it's all finished. Do it NOW so you don't have to deal with it all the day you go into labour. Trying to do it with a screaming baby is just as hard! Put in an injury claim too - whiplash and pregnant, may help you with the costs of a new car.
Hi Roquen, as MG said your baby is well and truely protected by your pelvis and I am sure all will be ok. I fell over at work (whilst attending a car accident!!) when I was about 14 or so weeks pregnant and landed very heavily, needless to say quite upset by it all! Grace is sleeping soundly in her cot whilst I type this. Have a nice relaxing evening, maybe a nice bath to help with those poor muscles of yours that will be aching more tomorrow, and good luck with your pregnancy.
