    Carpal Tunnel already?!

I got this last time from about 35 weeks, but i think it has already begun again... i've been waking up in the night and my hands and arms are numb with pins and needles. Is it normal for this to begin so early in pregnancy?

Everytime I wake up at night I seem to have pins and needles in my hands...I didn't know what it was from..I just thought maybe it was because I was sleeping on them funny or something but when you straighten your hand out it doesn't go away straight away. I didn't know it might be pregnancy related...

Yep orlux I was getting it from early on this time too, last time I think I was getting it from about 25 weeks, but this time was from about 5 weeks. My Dr told me that it is common to get it earlier in subsequent pregnancies, but even he was surprised it started so early.

I had it with all my pregnancies but was at it's worse when i was pg with Alex. I had to have my hands strapped up as it got to the stage i couldn't even write and it was hard to drive.

Try not to sleep on your arms i know it's hard but it doesn't hep if you sleep on them i found that one out.

I had it with 1st preg from around 30 weeks... no sign of it yet this time.

Go and see a physio, b/c even though they can't get rid of it (it's hormonal), there are some stretches which can help, and you can get some splints to wear at night which really help. I found if I used the splints at night then it wasn't so bad through the day, and I wouldn't wake up with the aching or the pins and needles.

I have noticed I have this problem for the last week. I think I woke up 4 times with pins and needles in my hands last night.
