With DS I wanted my scan early so DH could be there (as he was away at 12 weeks). I was told that not only wasn't it as accurate, but also medicare wouldn't pay as much. To get the full medicare rebate it needs to be between the optimal dates which I think are 11w 6d and 12w 6d.
