Isn't the PAPP-A coupled with the NT scan?? Together you should get a better idea of the possibility of a genetic/chromosomal disorder (including downs syndrome). All it does is give you the opportunity to decide whether you want to go ahead with CVS or amniocentesis to discover more difinitive answers.

I have heard of many women getting high risk results for downs and other chromosomal disorders only to find that they are carrying perfectly healthy babies. Try not to let it stress you out too much. Maybe a talk to your OB would help ease your mind a bit.

Yes it is done in conjunction to gain risk level but figures can indicate other things. As all my other results were normal apart fomr the papp-a. Thanks for the reassurance but not stressing just wasnt gonna happen *L*

I now have a reaadjusted risk thanks tohaving my weight calculated into the equation.
    It is now 1;232 and 1 : 6033 so a huge differene from 1: 16

Low Papp-a can still mean pre eclapmsia and IUGR so we shall just monitor more.
Thanks for your response I appreciate it.
