    Fell over - onto belly!!!

    Hi

Stupid me, went in the bath, reached for the towel and fell over straight onto my belly. Nearly knocked myself unconcious, saw stars, literally.
Went to the A & E dept last night, they were so unhelpful, sat and waited for 4 hours, only to be told that I'm only 8 weeks pregnant, and bleeding and miscarriage will just happen, if it's going to, just go home and wait and see.
Bruised all my arm, belly and hip bone.
No cramps today though, just praying all is well, will have to wait for my NT scan on the 5th August.

Ouch, you poor thing . That must have been so scary.

Fortunately your bub is still tucked away in your pelvis so I'm sure he or she will be OK. I hope you aren't feeling too bruised and sore today. Make sure you put your feet up.

Awww Tracey it's scary isn't it. I fell over right onto my huge belly at 34 weeks (tried to get a ball from the pool & nearly fell in, fell on the ground on my belly instead) & was absolutely terrified I had hurt my bubba. I was told essentially as long as there was no damage to the placenta then all would be fine & I would think that it's the same early on in pregnancy too. The hospital said that if nothing had happened within 24 hours everything would be ok. My baby girls was born eight weeks later with no problems.

Try not to stress too much, though it's near impossible with something like this I know.

Try not to worry, at 8 weeks your uterus is still completely protected by your bony pelvis. Bub would be completely oblivious

    hi

thanks ladies, you've made me feel better.
Knew it was well protected, but still worry (will be like that until it's here safe and well).

Oh honey, you poor thing. How scary. I know how you feel. I landed in Brisbane yesterday and we hit the runway so hard I thought we took a chunck out of the the runway. My first thought was to grab my belly and ask my bubba if it was ok. It was scary indeed. I am sure all is ok. Most Dr will just tell you that your baby is well protected in most falls etc. But please, please be careful from now on and just leave things if your gut instinct says its not worth it!
Take care and maybe go get some foot reflexology or something to help you relax. Stressing about it is probably more dangerous than the actual fall.
