    First post - u/s today

Hi I am new to this forum - this is my first post. I have 4 children and have many ivf attempts, miscarriages ectopic pregnancy etc. I have recently done FET. I initially started on a stim cycle which was replaced by HRT when stim did not work well. To my surprise I got a BFP, 1st level 137 at 14dpo, 2nd level 566 18 dpoand 3rd level 7867 at 24 dpo. I had 2 4cell grade A embryos transferred. I have difficulty believing that where the entire pregnancy is "held on" by hormone tablets that a pregnancy can "stick". Has anyone else had FET with HRT and success? I am now 43. I have my first ultrasound today, and am very scared as have had hx of miscarriage (as well as succesful pregnancies). I so want to see a hearbeat at the u/s this afternoon. I am between 6 & 7 weeks now. Will update whether good or bad after the u/s this afternoon.

Congrats and welcome I think we are belly buddies. You might also like to check out the pregnancy after long term trying to conceive, and pregnancy after miscarriage and loss forums. I am also having an IVF bubba after a few miscarriages, but this bubba is from a fresh transfer. I hope you see a gorgeous heartbeat or two today! Let us know how you go.

Thanks for the well wishes, it really means a lot to me as I haven't told people and feel very much alone. I had the u/s today, and before the ultrasonographer did it, she warned me from my dates it might be a little early to see a heartbeat (6wks 3 days), especially as FET with HRT. As she warned, we did not see a heartbeat, but did see a sack of the right size with a really tiny fetal pole that is of the correct size for the level of gestation (1.2mm I think). So I have to go back next Monday for another u/s to see if all is ok. How am I going to last almost a week? The u/s was supposed to reassure me but it hasn't! Even though I know that everything looks normal for this stage. This is going to be the slowest week!

The fetal pole is great news. I hope the next week goes quickly for you (seems we will be counting down to a scan on the same date ). Your belly buddies thread is here https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...81/index3.html

    Congratulations Contentmother!
Good luck for your next scan.

I don't have any tips for making the wait go quicker other than trying to stay busy. I'm past nine weeks and two promising scans so far but I still feel like I'm constantly counting down the days till my next scan!

Well the Dr Rang and wasn't too happy with the results. I am to go in for another u/s on Friday (not Monday) because there should be a heartbeat by then or it isn't going to happen. The blood test results so far have been so good, I will be heartbroken myself if the baby doesn't haven't a heartbeat on Friday.

ContentMother - there is a thread around here for someone else who had no heartbeat at your stage, and came back a week later and saw a heartbeat. There is some hope .

Just letting you know I had no heart beat at first ultrasound with this pregnancy when I should of been 6-7weeks but was told to go back in two weeks thinking that all would be bad as I had some bleeding but nope there was a good strong heartbeat on the second ultrasound! Good luck it's very nerve wracking, I would opt to have another ultrasound in a week if you still get no heartbeat on Friday just to make sure.

I also had no heartbeat, jut fetal pole at 6 weeks. That fetal pole is now a 2.5 year old little boy. Interestingly my doc wasn't at all concerned, I didn't have another scan until my first ob appt at 8 or 9 weeks.

Don't let your GP get you down or stress you out! Stick with the original scan date. GL

Thanks for the encouragement. I will wait for another scan if possible if the heartbeat isn't there. Hopefully even if no heartbeat, there will be some growth of some kind to show that things are still growing. I will check out the other thread too. I have been feeling low tonight but a bit better now I have seen the posts. My husband isn't concerned at all and says everything will be ok. When I have checked out other sites, they seem to say that it is ok not to get a heartbeat when it is less than 7 weeks and the fetal pole measures less than 5mm. I will keep you updated.

    news not good

I went back for the follow up ultrasound and there was still no heart beat and the fetal pole or anything for that matter had not grown at all. I elelcted to have a D&C and hoped to have the products of conception sent for genetic testing however there was a problem with that and I had a uterine peforation during the procedure but am doing very well now. The Dr was very nice as a lot of Dr's don't even tell you if someting like that goes wrong. I have been on antibiotics for a week or so. I am recovering and getting ready to try again. After a month or so wait. Perhaps I will post with the TTC group when I try next time. I really would like a chance to have a baby where I didn't have to go back to work straght away. Thanks so much for all your support. Will keep you posted on my jourmey.
