Headaches - how long did they last?

I've had headaches daily now for over a week. Seems the nausea moved out and the headaches moved in. I'm a bit prone to them anyway, but know they're fairly common in early pregnancy, so thought I'd ask how long you experienced them for.

    TIA

I have exactly the same issue at the moment as well.

I am a bit anti taking pain killers and would love any ideas of how to naturally get rid of them, or even just some light at the end of the tunnel of when they will depart.

Sorry cant be any help to you tho PRM!

Ahh that's okay, Inga. We're due at the same time, so it's sort of reassuring to see someone else going through it as much as it sucks. I'm trying to avoid the painkillers too.

Up till about a week ago I had them on a daily basis. Unfortunately I had to resort to painkillers as I just wasn't coping running after a toddler with a constant head ache so can't help with natural remedies. I did find however that not eating regularly or drinking enough water seemed to make them worse.

I also had them throughout my first trimester when I was pregnant with DS and what I did find very helpful was acupuncture, I would definitely recommend giving it a try.

Hope they disappear soon for both of you, it totally sucks xx

Yeah that. Longer for DD's pregnancy, bout that for DS. My Obs said if you are prone to headaches normally, pregnancy can exacerbate them.

She also told me not to be a martyr - take panadol if I needed it.

Hmmm....hoping they're not going to hang around for the long haul. I don't remember this with DD.

I've taken panadol, but I don't want to take it every four hours if I can avoid it. Seems the headache eases and then lets me know when the four hours of panadol is up

Probably doesn't help me sitting here staring at the computer

I usually have them pretty consistently until about 25 weeks, and then they drop away to a maybe once a week thing. I am very prone to headaches and migraine though so it was always going to be a problem for me.

When not pregnant I survive on mersyndol and panadeine forte, and while my OB has prescribed panadeine forte for me I am reluctant to take anything at all. If they're really bad and I have to go out somewhere then I'll take a couple of panadol but that's about it. Otherwise, I use cold compresses or hot showers - seems pretty hit and miss what works when I'm pregnant.

Hope they ease soon for you. Nothing worse, especially when you've got a LO who needs your attention.
