    Unhappy Heartburn/indigestion

Does anyone know a good over-the-counter remedy for heartburn? I got it so bad with my first pregnancy, and I'm only 6 weeks and already have it again!

Last time my OBs prescribed me Losec, which was amazing, but we're going away on Saturday and I won't have time to see a doctor before then, and I'm not sure if Losec is okay in first trimester (I only started taking it in third trimester last time).

So anything you've found that works that you can just buy from a chemist? I've tried Rennies, and aside from the fact that I HATE them, they only work for about five minutes and then it's back. I can't believe how miserable it can make me!

I can't recommend anything but I found to ease heartburn I ate regularly(like 1-2 hourly), small meals, drank lots of water and watched the types of food I ate. I found dense (like grain bread) low GI foods best.

You could just ask the pharmacist?

I'm a big chilli eater and found by putting less birds eye chillies in everything my heartburn subsided. So if you're into spicy food.. maybe cut back.

Tums worked (still works!) best for me.

Milk also seems to help soothe it, and I sleep propped up a bit.

Hope you get some relief soon, it's so uncomfortable x

I had a prescription for Pariet from midway through the first trimester and it is FANTASTIC!
