I found it helped a lot. I also found the feeling that I was going to throw up much harder to deal with than actual throwing up. There was never relief! I found the side effects a bit hard to take if I took a whole tablet, so I basically only took half a tablet when I needed it and concentrated on making sure I was eating the right things often enough to keep it at bay. So regular snacks, and trying to consume protein to help blood sugar levels remain constant and I was pretty ok most of the time and just needed the odd tablet to get me through if I'd been really busy or was just plain tired.
That sensation of feeling like you're going to throw up and not actually throwing up for me was worse than throwing up! At least after a good chuck there was some relief for a little while.
I was never offered maxolon but it seems to be more communally used now. Hope you get some relief soon.
