    Metamucil?

Is this safe to take when pregnant?

I'm 5 weeks today and am constipated. I ususally take metamucil every day but just want to make sure it's safe in pregnancy before I continue with it.

    Thanks in advance.

    Yep its fine hun.
Unfortunately part of the progesterone hormone we do tend to get constipated more during pregnancy.

I take 2 doses (morning and night) to ensure regularity.

I have found upping the water intake has helped heaps too...on days when i forget to drink the extra i find I am more 'bound up'.

    Hi,

I took Normafibe while pregnant with Noah. It's a little stronger than metamucil and really helped me to fight off constipation

Hope you find something to make you 'regular' soon

If you're regular (which Metamucil will help to do), wind issues will often improve too. For wind pain, DeGas is safe during pregnancy. They are peppermint infused capsules and you can get them in the medical section at the supermarket. Charcoal tablets are often good for wind and other bowel issues.
