I am 11w +5 and my heart rate is about 100 bpm pretty much every day. Now I know heart rate going faster is normal, but 100 beats per minute, is that excessive? And i will often get palpitations and irregular beats too. Normal or not?
Also, was at shopping centre yesterday and was starving. I really wanted a sandwich with avocado, tzaziki, cheese and lettuce. But can I have the lettuce? I know subway is a no no, but what about salad bars? (no meats of course)
Irregular beats/palpitations are normal for me, I asked my Ob in my first pregnancy because I was a bit worried, but he assured it's quite normal. By now I think your volume of blood has been increased, so your heart is working harder at pumping all that blood around!
Re: the salad, ditto what MadB said, be wary of salads that have been sitting around.
Heart palpitations normal for me when pg I guess the extra work its doing causes it, 100 bpm should be on the high side of normal mine when not pg sits at 90 if I'm stressed and 70 when not
As for salad bar it should be avoided but I will eat it if I am at the point of being dizzy and feel my blood sugars dropping I figure the one off risk is better than passing out
My non pregnant HB is low ( around 50-60) and when pregnant it can be >100bpm. I have found it was hiughest in first nad scond trimester, I would lie in bed and feel my heart pumping away, not so much now.
I've always had an irregular HB so thats nothing new for me.
If the palpitations are really bad tell your dr but I think its par for the course if they are just occassional.
The salad from the salad bar would probably be more risky than the meat, you need ot make sure it has been washed thoroughly and hasn't been sitting around all day. Best bet is go for somethign hot? Its hard eating at a shoppign centre.
Nearly 12 weeks!!!!!!! Well done hun xx
Thanks ladies! It's just so annoying! especially when it's hot. Makes you feel hotter.
At the shops i ended having a cheeseburger! It's the only safe option (suprisingly )
