Hi there!

Congratulations As others have said, miscarriage is most common in the first 12 weeks but some things statistically reduce risk (like seeing a heartbeat on the ultrasound, which indicates so far all is going great) - that doesn't mean a scan reduces risk, just that if you do have a scan and see the HB the risk is lower. I didn't have my scan until 11wks anyway, so it only "let me off" a week early and if i remember right i ws flying that week and really worried anyway, LOL. I too totally fretted through my 1st tri hun, it's hard . The Doc will have been asking because if your mum had lots and lots of losses that MIGHT indicate a possible genetic problem.

Try to relax and enjoy your pregnancy a bit - remember that every single baby ever born was a five-weeks-along pregnancy at some point.
