Not hungry..what can i eat for breakfast?

    Hi,

I am newbie to this forum and this is my first baby. I was wondering what should I have even if I am not hungry in the mornings. I am usually not a morning breakfast person and when it comes to breakkie, I only feel hungry around 10-11ish in the morning which i will reach out for a multi-grain toast or a bowl of wholegrain cereal. Is that too late to eat? Lunch is around 1-2pm. So far, I have not experience any morning sickness and into my 6 weeks yet.

    Thanks!

If that's working for you keep doing it. You may find as time goes on that your eating habits will change. Even if you don't get MS you could still go off food and only be able to eat small amounts of particular things and it may not be around meal times. I did that for months and still had a healthy baby.

Welcome to BB, if your not a breakfast person and your not hungry i wouldnt worry to much
Some ppl's m/s is so severe (like my sisters) that you can hardly eat anything and keep it down and they still have healthy babies. Your baby will take anything it needs from what you eat and leave you the leftovers.
    Good luck

Thank you for your quick replies. Much relieved to hear that.I wish all the other symptoms like bloating and tenderness will subside soon.

    Have a great day!

    Congratulations and welcome!

I am the same as you. I am not a big breakie eater. I have a bowl of cornflakes with skim milk and thats it. I can't handle anything more than that. But by 10ish I am starving and that is when I usually have a cup of tea or a hot chockie with some McDonalds Cookies (my craving). That usually gets me by till about 1ish and then I am hungry again but don't really have any desire for anything in particular so I end up making a vegimite sandwich which keeps me going till about 3ish then I have some more cookies. What can I say I love those cookies!

Are you taking a pregnancy vitamin? It is important that you pick one that has Iodine in it for baby's brain and as far as I know Elevit doesn't have iodine in it. Anyway if you take a suppliment you should be right for the bare basics so don't panic. Just eat when you want and eat what your body feels like eating! Its time to really get to know your body and listen to what it is saying to you.

Thanks for the note about iodine. I am taking Elevit (before falling pregnant and till now) and my friend pharmacist told me that the clacium content is not sufficient so she advise me to take calcium pill. ( BTW I am lactose intolerant as well). Thats the only additional I am taking.

Yes I am on a vitamin called Multi_Preg by Fefol it seemed to have the highest dose of all the elements when I compared them. But because I don't have a lot of dairy I also take Cenovis Calcium and Magnesium tablets. Apparently the Caltrate on its own is no good as the body finds it hard to absorb it so the magnesium helps the body absorb the calcium.

I always had a banana and apple for breakfast, as I am like you and didn't used to eat till 11am... but as my pregnancy progressed I found that I needed the energy in the mornings, and so the fruit was a light good energy boost, and then I would have my normal breakie at 11. The banana was the main help, as it is Low GI, so lots of slow released energy. Or sometimes I would buy a banana smoothie on the way to work...
    Good luck with your pregnancy!

Hello and welcome to this fantastic site.

I am 14 weeks pregnant on thurs and I still have trouble eating in the morning but what I do is have a cup of tea and a peice of apple or somthing small like that just to get my sugar leavels up and then I will eat breaky later. sometimes i just have a cup of tea and it fills me up untill i get hungry again lol make sure you take a pregnancy vitamine too as i found out. if you dont eat regulary taking one of the vitamines helps bubby get everything they need for their growth and they dont take so much from your body. I am on blackmores pregnancy gold for pregnancy and breast feeding.

    I hope this helps
    Rin xx
