After a night of severe vomiting, followed by a day and a half of bad diarrhea, the fun still doesn't stop!
I'm now extremely bloated (look about twice as pregnant as I really am!) with lots of wind. Is there anything I can do/take to help it out?
Fortunately, being on holidays I can sit here with my jeans undone and that relieves the pressure on my tummy a bit, but while it makes me a little more comfortable, it doesn't help get it out. From memory, the wind will go when I manage to get my digestive system working normally again, but the morning sickness is making establishing a normal eating pattern fairly tricky.
Any tips on foods to avoid/eat?
A friend also suggested Itry something called "infants friend" - is it safe to take while pregnant?
I pity my poor husband when the wind in the lower parts of my digestive system starts to come out!
Aww hon, you poor thing, what a rough trot you have been having!
I'm not 100% sure about infants friend being safe for pg - here are the ingredients: Contains: cassia oil, magnesium carbonate, ammonium bicarbonate, anise oil, dill oil.
You are taking Maxalon aren't you? One thing I noticed with Maxalon was that it bloated me and gave me lots of wind (thankfully not smelly though LOL), so that may be another reason. But hopefully once you get your digestion back into order things will settle down for you somewhat.
Hey BW, I have the same issues it's the opposit now that I hit the 12 week mark though so I have put some of it down to hormones BUT I was taking elevit and it was giving me the worst cramps and wind and sudden explosions if ynwim, I stopped taking them a few weeks ago and felt a little better. I've since tried the elevit again and got the same pains and issues. For me I've kept an eye on oranges and tomatoes although they're very healthy they give me trouble.

Hi Butterfly - you are having such a rough time... :hugs:
Cammomile tea can help as can gentle exercise. Steer clear of cabbage, brocolli, nuts and dried fruits/juices. Unfortunately it's something that happens in early pregnancy and it's probably exacerbated by your tummy bug... It's very uncomfortable and I hope it passes soon my love...
Hi there, I hope you get better. I am the queen of wind and cramps. I havent been able to eat right from 5 weeks. I have found that at night the wind and bloating gets worse. Since having this for around 4 weeks I have found out all these ways to help.
Never lay down after you have eaten. If you have to, lay on your side.
Keep away from beans, cabbage, brocolli.
Eat smaller dinners and more healthy snacks.(try not to eat after 6 pm)
If you really cant handle it like me, try De-Gas. It ok through pregnancy.
