Yes I think so as long as its not sashimi tuna (raw). I eat salmon both fresh and canned, I've never heard that I shouldn't.
I would like to know can i have tuna while pregnant?

I ate tinned tuna all through both my pregnancies. Just dont overdo it I think and no raw tuna.
You have to be careful not to eat too much tuna (not just when you're pregnant!) because it is such a large fish it can contain high levels of mercury.
Otherwise, I think cooked tuna in moderation is actually good for you - it's an easy way to eat fish regularly.
I ate "a lot" when I was pregnant, of all fish. usually one of my meals (lunch or dinner) was fish.
Certainly tuna got a good work out!
If you find you are craving fish, go for your life on the smaller fish with much lower mercury levels......I pigged out on salmon and whiting.
I was living in the NT when pg with Olivia and still indulged in Barramundi, but only once a week.....( a serve of about 150g). This was based on advice from my OB who had previously worked on a study in relation the amount of methylmercury that can safely be consumed by pregnant women from fish sources.
(I think his contributuon was to the government department who issue the Food Standards Australia recommendations, which are pretty strict.)
The study gives guidelines through measured calculation of what is deemed totally safe.
HTH!
oH YUM...I love canned tuna! I eat it all the time!![]()
