Hi Brydz

I'm 9 weeks and also really stuffy. Thankfully I'm not getting impacted sinuses, I have a post-nasal drip (sorry, gross eh?) so its causing throat infections and a cough.

I wish I had answers, but I can only offer sympathy. And, I guess to suggest that you keep drinking tons of water to keep the mucus as fluid as possible. (Not that you need any more reasons to be going to the bathroom I bet!)

My doc said that a cortisone nasal spray is perfectly safe. It wouldnt work straight away but might provide some relief long term?? Personally though I am not using that at the moment cos I want to keep off all medication as long as I can. You're past the teratogenic phase now though so maybe worth a try?

I can sometimes tell if I have an infection (vs congestion) by the colour and (sorry) taste of the the mucus. Not sure if you can tell?? I wouldnt risk the amoxycillin if you can avoid it, but it you do need to, maybe you could test your immune reaction first? you could start by putting a little on your skin first (make a paste if its tablets). If you dont react on your skin after 12-24hrs then try making a little scratch in your skin and putting it in the scratch, if thats ok try taking half a tablet... etc.

I'm thinking of getting one of those steam vaporisers with the mask. No idea how much they'll be though??

I hope it settles down for you really soon.
