SMH Headline: "Why Dads should stay away from their children's births".

This is seriously a headline on the Sydney Morning Herald this morning!!! Yes, in the year 2013!! They managed to put together a full page spread to support their one-sided, out-dated argument, including the "research" of a French obstetrician and a series of dads talking about how disgusting and traumatic the birthing experience was for them and how they struggled to see their partners the same after. I think first time dads are all scared enough without reading this sort of horrible misinformation!!

Here are a couple of quotes from the article:
“After that experience, my relationship with my woman’s sex organs was profoundly affected, he recalls. The woman is biologically equipped to forget that experience; the male carries the memory perfectly and vividly. Another father recalled how sex with his wife was seriously restricted after the birth. He witnessed the placenta being released… ‘I have never discussed how it impacted on me… it interfered with sexual activity for years… I can still see that gush today.’”
“Michel Odent, a French obstetrician who has 50 years of birthing experience, claims men disturb the birthing process. Odent justifies his position on physiology…”

I don't know why this article made me so angry but I just needed to have a rant!
