Depending on if you are a 'low risk' pregnancy, you also have the choice of team midwifery (at a public hospital that has this option) where you see a team of midwives and only see an OB for a couple of visits, or if they refer you to one based on your circumstances.

I have private insurance, but am going public in a public hospital with this baby, doing shared care with team midwives & my GP.
