Soooooooo devastated

This is probably going to be a massive, unreasonable, makes no sense rant!!! But I need to get it off my chest I'm a massive wreck!!!

So had bloods taken Monday Hcg had risen from 1700 to 5100 in five days!!! Progesterone was sitting at 56 - not bad it was under 40....

LMP was the 5/4/13.... By that I should be 7 week this Friday

Just went for a dating scan and was told there is no sign of any pregnancy and that my hcg levels can keep going up if there is no pregnancy!!!!

WTF??? How can that be? The lady who did the scan was soooooooo rude

I'm heart broken

That's a real worry. i'd go get a second opinion. It could be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy, or it may just be hiding where the sonographer couldnt see it. Depending on when you ovulated, your dates may be wrong.

I know I'm freaking right out this will be miscarriage number 14 if it doesn't end well and I can't cope anymore....

The lady who did the scan said to go back in 7-10 days

I second L&B - it could be an ectopic and I'd be getting a second opinion too. I really hope that you just got a crappy sonographer

Id at least be asking for repeat hcgs tests until you see something on u/s but at that level you should be able to see something and id definitely be concerned about an ectopic pregnancy :-( sorry you didn't get better results hun.

It's just NOTHING is adding up.... Like I said my hcg is within the "normal" range and is my progesterone....

My LMP was the 5/4/3013 and the last time my partner and I had sex was the 16/17th April then nothing for a week (as he works away) so the next date was the 24th but I got a very very very faint BFP on the 3/5/13....

So it can't possibly be that my dates were out can it????

You may be out by about a week. Assuming you ovulated around the 25th April, you could get a faint BFP by 3 May. It would be about 8-9dpo. That would make you about 6 weeks pregnant. Sometimes that's too early to see anything in the uterus. Many people wait until 7wks before having a dating scan.

You can still have normal hcg and have an ectopic. Mine was within normal range but I had other indicators, like extreme pain.

Was it an internal scan? Or just an abdominal one?

She did both ultrasounds but I barely in there for 1 minute with the internal

baby4please, i am so sorry to hear your news. And to be treated so rudely, about something so important, is terrible. Especially with your medical history. I hope you get another scan, adn have a support person come with you. i would be devo too, so sorry you're going through this. Best of luck, i hope the next scan is all you want it to be (and with a sonographer who has the empathy gene). Big hugs to you - i don't know you from a bar of soap, but it breaks my heart that this could happen to anyone.

Baby4 my heart goes out to you but I agree with the others, I'd get another scan. At the very least the results based on what you know seem inconclusive. Hoping its perfect news.

Booked in for another scan tomorrow morning so fingers crossed there is something to be seen now
