Spotting /bleeding in Early pregnancy Question. Your thoughts

    HI all,

Well you would think I would know by now, especially after all the losses I have had, as well as all the spotting/bleeding I have had in my last 3 pgcy's which resulted in my DD"s.

Now I am 4wks today, Bt yesterday at 11dpo was 28, will be going for another BT tomorrow to check that the levels are doing what they are supposed to.

Well yesterday I started having some spotting, very pale pink, only happened about 3 times on the pad and when I wiped. Sorry for the TMI. I didnt have naymore spotting since about 8pm last night, had this horriblew bacvk pain yesterday, but that has eased considering hopw it was yesterday. Also the pain in the back started in the lower back but then ended up in the upper part of my back. Which currently is where I am feeling a nagging niggly pain atm, not the lower back.

Well the spotting started back up again today at around 10am was pale pink then stopped. After returning from the DR's and only just letting him know that the spotting only happened that morning today, I went and checked and there was some more darker spotting on the pad. Pale pink when wiped.

I have checked since then and nothing not even when I wipe.

I should mention I am also not due for AF until Sunday.

Has anyone experienced this early on and not miscarry. I m/c a couple of times at 5weeks before Olivia, but the spotting started and went into bleeding that same day. Not this on / off business.

With my later m/c's spotting but didnt stop before leading into a full bleed.

With my 3 dd's, I had spotting but with my first 2 DD's it was brown, cant remember for the life of me when it started.
With Olivia, spotting never started until 7wks, they were all due to a sub chorionic haemotoma.

I am trying not to get my hopes up with this pgcy, and trying like mad not to be negative at the same time.

Your thoughts of your experiences or even what you think might be happening would be helpful. ATM all I am thinking is Here we go again, cant I just have a stress free pgcy.

I should also mention I take aspirin that thins the blood to stop clotting as I am ANA positive.

    Thanks in advance. HUgs

Bleeding during pregnancy is very stressful
If it's different to your miscarriages, then perhaps that's good news? I don't think there's much you can do really till your blood test

I should add, I do know of people who've had a LOT of bleeding in early pregnancy and gone on to birth healthy babies.

Marcellus - I am wondering if it has anything to do with the baby aspirin I have to take. I am really hoping that is all it is.
As I mentioned I have spotted in early pgcy and carried to term, but not this early, than what I can remember, only remember last pgcy. Last pgcy spotted 7wks, pink and brown but then once the clot had drained itself from my body it was very dark red and runny. As far as I remember with the previous two it was only brown, just Olivia was pink etc.

    Thankyou for responding. hugs

I don't know, maybe. I was on aspirin when pregnant DS and never bled. Everyone's different of course. I guess it's a question to ask your doctor if the bleeding continues

Thanks ladies, had a break from the spotting since last time, but it started up again abit darker, but seems to have settled again.

I keep getting this horrible upper back pain. Not sure if thats got anything to do with it.

I just hope tomorrow turns out better. Really not feeling very positive.

    Hey hun,

I hope everything is ok and i have everything crossed for you xoxo

The upper back pain could just be from hormones.

As for the bleeding, I can't give you much more info than the others have already given. I would take it as a good sign that it keeps stopping though

csab - sending you a big hun, hope everything settles down soon! You were asking if anyone else had spotted early - my spotting was at just after 5 weeks, and went on & off (including a full-on bright red bleed) for 3-4 weeks during which time we did find a subchorionic hematoma. Resolved itself and went on to be fine (that was X's PG). With you, I think it's a good sign that it's a bit on & off, and agree with the others, it could be breakthrough bleeding as well.

Sending you big positive sticky vibes

Hi all, sorry have been very busy today, mainly trying to keep my mind off things. Spotting happened once today, havent seen anything since the morning, so fingers crossed it has started to stop. My BT results came back with a hcg level of 69, so has definately doubled since two days ago, of 28.

I am trying very hard to keep positive, hasnt been real easy. However spotting has only happened once today, fingers crossed it is stopping.

Thankyou for all your support and your thoughts. I hope you all have a wonderful long weekend. hugs

Thanks Miss K, I have had bleeding in my previous prgcy's but not this early with what I can remember. Little V my last one, bleeding didnt start until 7wks, and my last 2 m/cs ended at 5wks. Which had me even more worried this time. It is such a nerve wracking time of the pgcy isnt it? It worries the cr@p out of me everytime I see the blood.

I am so glad that your bleeding stopped and you have made it to 12wks. I dont think we ever really feel secure until you start feeling bub move. I hope you have a H & H rest of your pgcy hun. hugs

I have had pink or brown spotting in 3 pregnancies. I usually have it the day after AF is due. It lasts a few days.

Marcellus - I feel so relieved to see the numbers had improved. Especially with the spotting. Thankyou for all your support. hugs

Laney - Thankyou for sharing, my AF isnt due until tomorrow, so happening before af this time. hugs

Nuddle - Thankyou for sharing your experience too, I am so glad your little one is going strong. I had spotting with my last DD that went for a few weeks on and off, until the last bleed of a fair bit, and dark red. Always worries me when I see it though, leaves that impression of uncertainty. hugs

Belfie - I had the sub-chroionic heamotoma with my last 3pgs, so in a way expecting to see one here too, well if it gets that far. Thankyou for coming in and supporting me hun. I am so relieved all is going well for you with this pgcy hun. hugs

MM - Thankyou too hun, that back pain worries me, as when it happens is more or less when the spotting appears. Also havent had good experiences with back pain in the past when m/c. So gives me alarm bells. The back pain seems to have eased somewhat though, which is really good.

Well spotting appears to be easing, only had 2 episodes yesterday, and so far today none. So yay for that. Will be having another BT on Tuesday to check levels again then it will be an early u/s sometime after that one.

    Thanks again ladies.
