Help! I had a scan at 5 weeks 1 day because of bleeding and the sonographer found a subchorionic haemorrage. Had another scan today at 6 weeks 4 day and baby was on track with heartrate of 122bpm. However the haemorrage now looks to be twice the size anyone had this and what has the outcome been? I am seeing doc on Thurs but cant wait that long for reassurance!!
Hi Nikki
In most cases your body will reabsorb the blood or encapsulate it. You will then go on to have a normal birth. I would expect your doctor to want to keep a close eye on you during your pregnancy
Hey Nikki,
I had an SCH with my last pregnancy too. I was told to rest up - I did get spotting and full on bright red bleeding with it, but then the SCH went away and the PG progressed fine. From what I remember reading, rest up and take it easy to help it heal up - and ask the doc obviously too. Put it this way, resting up ain't gonna hurt it. GL with it, I know how stressful and scary it is, and make sure they monitor it for your peace of mind.
