You cant have too much Vitamin A. It can cause defects - blindness I think. A normal prenatal will have enough, if your levels are ok. Otherwise, talk to a doctor.
Can we or can't we have vitamin A? Just read an article that it's okay and it's in milk etc but for some reason in my mind is saying we can't have vitamin A??

You shouldn't take suplements for it, too much is a bad thing whilst pregnant (this is one of the differences between normal mult vitimins and pregnancy multi vitimins). However, most people will still be getting enough in their regular diets for it to continue doing the good things it does (they are just warning mums to be off taking extra).![]()
If it were me I wouldn't buy/eat any foods with added vitamin A, especially in early pregnancy. Also avoid offal (especially liver) as it is too high in Vitamin A for a pregnant woman.
The breakfast juice is a 'no' because it is added vitimin A (aka a supplement) it is not normally found in foods and shouldn't be part of a regular healthy diet.![]()
Yep and some foods with naturally high levels (ie liver) should be avoided completely during the first trimester and only consumed in very low amounts irregularly in the later trimesters.
