I told Mum the day I found out (she was standing next to me when I got the call), then my dad, and DH told his parents too. But they were sworn to keep it a secret until 8 weeks when I let close family and friends know (that was after the 1st scan) and I had intended to tell everyone else and work after the 12week ultrasound (ours was booked for when I was 13weeks) that way I knew everything was ok especially as we had miscarried earlier that year, but ended up having to tell work at week 11 as I was having to run to the bathroom every afternoon to throw up from week 10 and it was getting a bit obvious (especially when they all knew we were trying...had been for 3 years at that point). If I get a round 2, I'd probably do exactly the same (but hope I don't get sick and can wait til the main ultrasound).

For me I didn't want people to feel sorry for us if it did go bad and have those looks and awkward moments when talking to them.

Tell people when your ready and comfortable.
