    Why so Bloated?

    Hi ladies,
Well I have just had a BFP on my confirm pregnancy sticks YAY YAY!!! I am 12DPO
I am so bloated!!!! can someone tell me why & if It goes away?
I look as though I am 5 months PG and I am only 4 weeks- I can't even suck it in.
In fact I am looking "chunky" all over. Anyone else experiencing this?

I'm 12 weeks and have felt that way since 7 weeks, I've had to give up my fav skinny jeans as they're too tight on my belly!

    Thanks Everyone,
I am not so bloated today. My breasts had also stopped hurting, so I was a bit concerned. But they have started aching again (who would of thought I would want aching breasts) I did another PG test this morning and it was postive so thats good. I really just have to remind myself that AF isn't due yet and I am only 13DPO, so it is still early days I am only 4 weeks PG anyone else obsessing over their symptoms?

I have heard that the bloating in early pregnancy is due to the high levels of progesterone (not sure if this is correct but it makes sense).

Your body produces lots of progesterone in the first trimester to help the baby grow. Once the placenta is functioning nicely, your body stops producing so much progesterone so the bloating eases a little bit. Of course - by then your uterus is starting to reach the top of your pelvis so you start getting a belly anyway so you can't win.

Yay for sore breasts! LOL it is nice to have some indication that you really are pregnant in those first weeks - even if it is painful!

Thanks for the answer hannah - it's nice to have some kind of understanding about whats happending to me during pg! So many things, isn't the human body smart!

I have a tendency to be bloated, esp after meals, but in any event, I'm not able to fit into my fave jeans anymore - track pants are a good option for me. I must invest in some pants that I can wear for work now that I'm getting out of the 'uniform blues' and into plain clothes! I'm 11.5 wks.
