I have seen it work many times, since I started as a birth attendant in 2005. It works best where you have had pre-prep sessions, as it can pick up things in your body which may be a problem or holding things up, so I recommend women try it before their due date for prep, then from their due date you can have actual 'induction' encouragment acupuncture. Sometimes is takes one session, and sometimes three or so. But if it doesnt work, then you know your baby is definitely not ready yet. There is also 'induction' massage which works on the points you are supposed to avoid during pregnancy. Both Cailin and I saw the same induction massage person (a year apart) and we both went into labour within 36 hours. True. And my clients had the same experience with her too (BellyBelly's own Tracey Habron!) but she doesn't do it anymore, she's off overseas on a big holiday. The BB therapists do the very same thing and I have seen it work many times. Don't always have to go straight to medical induction, should always give natural therapies a chance first. Much less at stake.
