    Hi guys

Recently got the results of my BT back and apparently it was negative.

I'm not very convinced to be honest, and I'm not very happy with my doctor. He didn't even want to ask me my symptoms or anything - did a dip test and then referred me for the BT right away. I actually felt like I was wasting his time. Ugh. Meanwhile when he FINALLY called me about my test results he asked when my next aF was due. I told him at the beginning of November. He said to wait, and if it doesn't come to call him back!

I think I will wait now (what else can I do?) and then if no AF I will go to a woman doctor who might know what she's doing. LOL. Thanks very much for all the support, ladies.

Just wondering if any of you have had negative BTs and then still been carrying?

Well I'd have thought since you are so late that at the very least a BT would have picked it up. I would say that the very light bleeding was probably just a light AF, it can happen sometimes for a lot of reasons.

    I hope you conceive soon!

    Hey Amsta.

I'm nearly 4 weeks late now (if you don't count the 1 day I had a mysterious AF on 2 October).

I hate waiting and not knowing one way or the other. Symptoms I currently have include:

    - subsiding morning (all day lol) sickness
    - bigger tingly boobs with darkened nipples
    - peeing all the time
    - constipation
    - excess saliva in my mouth
    - swollen hands/feet
    - weird cravings
    - insomnia
    - lower back pain
    - indigestion/heartburn/gas

Ugh. I think I will wait and see if AF comes along in November and if not I will go to a women's clinic.

Good luck with your BT results, Amsta - post back here and let me know!!!

Oh, bugger about feeling so rotten! If you are pregnant you're pretty unlucky to get all those symptoms at once! Good luck. I hope you aren't in suspense for too much longer.

I"m due a the beginning (first week) of November. It's my first pregnancy (if I am lol) so I will have to wait and see.

I was talking to my mum about it. She's a registered nurse and worked in maternity and ante-natal care for years and she says that if I'm not pregnant she will be very much suprised. She also had very unusual pregnancies and tested very late with low HCG levels ll the way through her pregnancies apparently, so maybe I just take after her. LOL!

I have to eat more eggs now. I must admit, it's weird to crave something so much but feel sick of eating it at the same time. LOL!

I think it's highly unlikely that you could be that far along and get a negative BT but still be pregnant.

In the early stages it is definately possible but not later on. If you were only newly pregnant you would not be getting all those symptoms.

Even at 4 w 1 d my HCG was in the 400's and you only need 25 to be considered pregnant. By the stage you would be at now I was something like 75,000. There's no way a blood test wouldn't detect that kind of number.

I guess anything is possible, but I just think it's pretty unlikely.

Some women get "pregnancy symptoms" when they are not pregnant. I know I did a couple of times on unsuccessful cycles (but never missed a period). The ones where I conceived I didn't get any traditional early pregnancy symptoms until after I got a + HPT & + BT.
