Red face Ah its about my rear end...

I discovered this morning that I have a hemorrhoid I never had a problem with this last pregnancy and I don't want to go the next 3mths with it!!

I know not to strain, eat lots of fibre etc.... Is there any thing else I can do to help it go away or should I expect to have it for the rest of my pregnancy? (I hope not!)

Get some cream darls and lots of fibre will help, I never had them before kids!! Not pleasant but relatively easily fixed, maybe go and have a chat to your local pharmacist, they will recommend a good cream. xoxox

i got mine around the same time as you now maybe a little earlier but i had whooping cough and spent a fair amount of my time squating overthe toilet coughing into the bowl. i got some cream and it did go away but the doctor warned me that once i got towards the end they would probably be back.. and sadly they were but theres really not a great deal you can do about that im afraid

I highly recommend Sheriproct ointment. I think it is only available on prescription and it is darn expensive (about $60 for a small tube) but it lasts for ages and is the only thing that has worked for me after my three deliveries.

I got mine after DS was born.... I used Rectinol cream... It's still there and really i should go get it actually looked at... but i haven't! The cream didn't make it go away but it made it less painful and i can actually poop without wincing or it bleeding and i can sit with no problems now; so perhaps it made is smaller but it is still there. I think if they are too big you can have them surgically removed?

Load up on fibre! I had an internal one burst just a few days before I was being induced and I was terrified of what would happen during labour, I imagined my bowels exploding, so I got the cream from the chemist and had 3 servings of drinking fibre every day and it improved so much nothing at all happened during labour and I was pushing for an hour!

Also witch hazel helps soothe external haemorrhoids.

Well I thought I ate enough fibre but obviously not enough! I hope it doesn't stick round..
What's a good fibre drink that I can have?

I don't think it's a huge "fibre" issue so much rather than bub and all putting a lot more pressure downwards on your internals. I got one with Elijah and used the Rectinol cream... they can be a tad on the uncomfy side!!!

It depends if you're constipated, talking iron supplements and stuff can do that. That was my problem.

I think I have fibre sure... You just add it to water or anything and it completely dissolves.

They should go away over time hon. I had a huge one after giving birth and it was gone within a few weeks. I used the really expensive cream a PP has mentioned. You should try that if you're still having issues.

Ngala - it isn't necessarily a fibre issue, it's most likely the pressure of the baby in that general region. A good fibre drink though is Metamucil (orange flavoured, just add water) or Benefibre which you can add to juice, water or your cereal.

I'd suggest trying some cream on it too. They can be quite nasty so treat it as soon as you can

I can sit without any pain today!! I used the cream last night and its all gone this morning. Now I just got to make sure it doesn't come back...

ETA.. I spoke too sooner!! The cream obviously reduces for some time its ok to still exercise yes as long as I don't strain myself down there?

Yup, for sure. The amazing cream one of the PP mentioned was prescribed to me in hossi after I had DD. It worked so well but it's pricey and yes, prescription only. You'll have it for ages though.

ETA: Sheriproct - that's the cream!

Hey V- I had those all the time with DD...they suck I know. What really helped me was taking a sitz bath in baking soda...really helped the pain..

    Hope that helped
