i had DD next to the bed for a few weeks but i found that she did wake DH up a bit and he worked quite late shifts so needed sleep. And DHs snoring wasnt very helpful for either DD or I. so in the end DD and I slept in the spare room for a bit then she went in her own room for a while at about 3 months when she was sleeping better (she slept through the night for about a month) then when she started waking more she came back in with us for a few months casue she was waking 5+ times a night but by then she didnt scream everytime she woke up so it didnt really wake DH up. she went back into her cot after she grew out of that and was fine. she would go in her cot with maybe one quick settle over night and then come into bed with us at about 4am. I guess just go with the flow, in the end of the day you do what ever works for you at the time and basically make it up as you go along .
