    Baby Shower 2nd time around???

I've been asked a number of time if/when i'm having a baby shower for baby number 2. I didn't think it was normal ettique to have a 2nd, 3rd etc baby shower? Am I wrong for thinking this???
I wasn't planning on one as i'm not a greedy person and have jsut about everything we need from DD1.

Did you have a baby shower for subsequent babies? Am I being normal for not expecting one/wanting to organise one??

Everyone is asking me the same thing! But we had definately planned to have one anyway It's been 10 years since I had a baby and I never had one with my son. Regardless of that, my MIL said to me recently- a baby shower is about all the girls getting together not long before the birth to have a tea party, play baby games, get all excited about the pending arrival of bubs and to celebrate the mum to be!! So not really much to do with presents, even though I know presents are a big thing.
We dont need alot either, so on the invites it could just say no gift required. I recently went to my SIL's baby shower and it was requested that all gifts were 'disposables'... so all sorts of baby products/wipes etc. That was a good idea for her considering her situation, but I would prefer to buy my own, as Im fussy with products/ingredients etc.
I cant wait to have a baby shower!

Each baby and pregnancy is a miricle, so why not celebrate accordingly

I wasn't having one as DD was only 21 months when DS was born..

But some friends really wanted to do something, so we did have a lunch, and as far as presents, I agreed to them getting me a close carrier (a suggestion was made, and I liked it, I didn't ask), as we had everything else, and I knew I would use a carrier this time around, but I would also have just been happy to have them all here for a catch up..

My gorgeous friend organised a lovely lunch wiht just a few of my girlfriends. Some of them gave me presents for baby but the also gave me gem stones for the birth to help me which was so special.

I think its up to you hun, like Teagz said each baby is a miricale and we should celebrate our beautiful bellies x

So... if i do have a lunch or something (because i'm not having anything at home - don't want to clean up ) I would say no gifts, but if people do want to get something, is it rude to ask for a small contribution towards the few things we have on layby for bubs??
If so, how would you word something like that???

Maybe say something like "no gifts please as we already have everything on layby."

I've been asked a few times if I'm having a baby shower. Wasn't planning to because I had one with DS but as we're having a girl this time, i've toyed with the idea but I can't be bothered organising my own (worried no one would come!) so unless someone organises for me, it prolly won't happen.

I had a lovely girly lunch out at a restaurant. Everyone paid for themselves & I said no gifts, it was just to celebrate our miracle girl's impending arrival. That said everyone did bring a small gift, I think they were all just excited!
