I've always thrown in a couple of 'randoms' for giggles so I've always had a condom (or box of them) on the tray!

Other good items are:
- a comb and brush set
- one of those finger food mesh things (can't think of the name!) which is good for fruit, ice blocks, etc
- muslin wrap
- bib
- Sudocream or some sort of nappy cream in a sample size so it's cheap for you
- breast pads
- plastic spoon set (for first solids)
- cotton wool balls - I used a lot of these initially as DD had gammy eyes (blocked tear ducts)
