I am looking for some ideas for things that I can include for the Memory Game for a Baby Shower. If you don't know the game, its a basket of a few bits and pieces say 10 - 20 items you give guests 60 seconds to look through the items to remember them then you cover it up or take it away and give them another minute or 2 to write down as many items as they can.
So far I have:
Nail Clippers
Teething Ring
Hand Sanitiser
Baby Wipes
Baby Socks
Disposable Throw away bags (the scented ones)
Baby Panadol
I will be buying a bath thermometre that comes with a bath book so there is two more items there. I am hoping for maybe 15 items.
I just want small things otherwise its going to really add up so what other "little" things could I add to my list. These will be handed to the M2B when the game is finished so she has lots of the little things that you don't know you need until after the baby comes
I've always thrown in a couple of 'randoms' for giggles so I've always had a condom (or box of them) on the tray!
Other good items are:
- a comb and brush set
- one of those finger food mesh things (can't think of the name!) which is good for fruit, ice blocks, etc
- muslin wrap
- bib
- Sudocream or some sort of nappy cream in a sample size so it's cheap for you
- breast pads
- plastic spoon set (for first solids)
- cotton wool balls - I used a lot of these initially as DD had gammy eyes (blocked tear ducts)
I don't think I will do the dummy because they can be pricey and we won't know if her baby likes a particular shape or will even take a dummy in the first place (mine never did) so I would rather spend the $8 ish dollars on something more practical.
Excellent list Taurs definately a few things on there I can add to the list!! She already has a tonne of muslin wraps (plus I have 6 more for her in my own present to her ) I LOVE the breast pads one as its something she might not think of nor would others be likely to buy it for her ITMS .......
I say go the dummy, just one random one. She won't know if her baby will take the dummy if she doesn't have one to try, will she?
(In other words, I wish I had had one on hand to try when my 3 week old baby was mega unsettled on a public holiday)
You could always get a classic cherry dummy (Happy Baby) which are super cheap and at most supermarkets and pharmacies. Pity I bought the orthodontic ones as a 'JIC' before DD was born as that's all she'll take now. Better for her teeth/mouth but not the cheapest dummies
