I had a baby shower back in September and it was great

My girffriends organised a high tea theme and came up with different activities. It was great, loved the food - Cupcakes (seeing as my bump/the baby has been nicknamed Cupcake!), scones with jam and cream, little sandwiches, biscuits, cakes, mini sausage rolls etc.

One of the girls painted a big pink pregnant torso (on 6 A4 pieces of paper stuck together) and cut out some jellybean shapes to play pin the baby on the belly (we were blindfolded and spun around to nursery rhymes), there was a box of different baby items that were covered up and we had to remember what was in it and write it down, then seeing as there was a tie a couple of things were removed when we weren't looking and we had to say what had been taken out and there was a word association game as well.

Lots of time was spent just chatting - none of my friends have had kids or are pregnant and they were very curious about what its like to be pregnant, and they all wanted to feel Cupcake move. They could see my belly moving which made them all very excited, but she wouldn't let them feel her My friends are quite crafty and one of them organised to make a beautiful mobile based on things you find outside - she brought along some needle, threads, felt, a hot glue gun, sticky eyes etc and we ended up making a mobile with all sorts of animals on it. Its absolutely beautiful but it look ages so I probably wouldn't recommend it even though I've got a beautiful keepsake of the occasion.

Something else I did was to go and buy some pretty pens and beautiful peices of card and I got each of my friends to write down some messages/nice words of advice (seeing as we know we're having a girl) and I'm going to string them on some pretty ribbon and hang them in the baby's room so she can grow up surrounded by words of womanly wisdom.

    GL and enjoy!

I just had my first baby shower and it was great fun! 2 of my friends organized it for me and helped with food. We did an afternoon tea thing with lots of little finger foods.
    For games we played:
The price is right: guess the prices of common baby items, like the phil and teds buggy, heinz baby food etc then the closest one to the final bill won
Pair the socks: 20 pairs of socks mixed up to be paired and folded, as many in 15 secs.
Who's baby: list of questions to name celebrities babies
Nappy chocolate: Melted chocolate bars on nappies and guess what flavour it is without tasting of course.... the turkish delight ones were the best!
Baby photo: Guess who's who with their own baby photos that everyone brought
Then of course we had lots of champagne and girly chit chat.
