    Unhappy Cold sore advice pleeaase??

    Hi there, I'm currently 34 weeks pg and have got a cold sore coming up on my lip

    Does anyone know what is safe and effective to use while pg??

    I hate them they get soooo painful and not to mention not good to look at I'll appreciate anyone's suggestions!!

    I always forget until it's too late, but I've been told that holding an icecube on it can minimise the severity.

    I always use Carmex Medicated Lip Balm on them, even when pregnant.

    Google it but some of the suggestions include ice, cold tea bags, L-lyseine etc

    Yup was going to mention this one.. They have a lip balm and a cold sore one.. It works great.. even after the sore has come up

    Thanks for the replies! I've already done the ice, but I'll try get hold of some Carmex too, I googled lysine and got mixed reports as to whether you can use it when pg so bit confused.

    Sorry I probably did the no no, but I still used zovarax whilst pregnant. It is the only thing that dries mine up and stops the itching.

    sorry not much help, but I hope it dries up quickly. I hate them I feel more run down when I've got one than what I did in the first place lol
