Conception of Boys and Girls - the practical not the theory
I am not sure if there have been other posts like this one, I pose this question to all those women out there who are currently pregnant and to those that have children already.
When you concieved -
1 - where were you in your cycle?
2 - what sex child did you have?
Even though there seems to be better times for conception of a boy or a girl I was wondering how the true this actually was. So if you know when you ovulated and when you dtd (if you want to share that is) what the sex of your baby is - just to see if the theory works out or if it really doesn't matter bub will be what it will be.
Sorry I cannot explain my question any easier? I guess its a timing thing that I am wondering about, I know the theory 24-48 hours to O the more chances of a boy etc BUT what about in practise??
We BD'd only once in the month we conceived and it was on the day I O'd. We got a daughter. I've read so much about gender swaying but I think there is still only a 50/50 chance.
With my boys we BD every day throughout my cycle, sometimes more then once
With this pregnancy, we BD 2 days before O, we didn`t continue BDing as I had a bad stomach bug with a high temp, I thought we didn`t have a chance, goes to show I was wrong, we`ll be finding out at 20 weeks what colour we`re having.
With DD1 my cycles were 30days. We weren't ttc and we dtd 4 days before O. I Oed on cd 16. Then with DD2 my cycles were 33 days long, we dtd 5 days before O and I Oed on cd 20. This time my cyles were around 34 days long, we dtd on O day which was cd21. Not sure what we are having yet..but I am sure it is a baby.
Our first was a pleasant surprise, so can't help you with that one (and he was a boy). When we were TTC our next one we DTD every second day from CD14 till the end of the appearance of EWCM (I didn't really have much of an idea about my cycle at that point apart from it being 36days long, just knew that we should probably do it lots LOL) and we got pg first cycle and she was a girl. We did the same thing when TTC our 3rd and got another girl first cycle. On both of those times we weren't trying to gender sway at all. I have since realised however in the months before TTCing #4 when I paid close attention to my cycle that I don't O until the EWCM is gone and I get O pain about 2 days after it's gone. So when TTC #4, we didn't DTD till the EWCM was gone and as soon as I started getting O pain we DTD. We did it two nights in a row and we got a boy. We knew there wasn't any certain way of gender sawying but we thought we'd give it a shot and if it turned out in our favour great (as it did) but if it didn't then no drama. That's just how it worked out for us though.
