Beema - I had a breech birth with Leo. The birth itself went really well. A fair bit of work, but then I hadn't pushed a baby out before The Dr just pretty much stood there, wiping blood and stuff away and pointing things out to the other doctor and student who were in there learning. It definately is a matter of hands off the breech. She did give me a local anaesthetic in the pudendum at the start of 2nd stage in case she needed to use forceps to help the head out at the end, but they weren't needed.

The main thing the head consultant wanted to check was that I was progreessing well and that the baby was in the right position. He was frank breech with his chin tucked in, so we were OK for a breech. I pushed Leo out in 1 hour 10 minutes. His heartbeat was monitored the whole time.
