For those of you who have had baby showers I would love to know at what stage of your pregnancy did you have it?

I didnt have a baby shower with DD as was overseas until 34 weeks and it was too hard to organise and by the time I was pregnant with DS I didnt feel the need to have one either.

I am hoping to organise a shower for one of my best girlfriends who is due in mid October. Problem is from mid August-early October I am overseas, so if I do it early August would that be too far in advance of the birth? She would be around 29 weeks at that stage?
