    Drinking tea while pregnant?

I've just found out I'm pregnant with my 3rd baby and I am craving bubble teas (they are iced teas with tapioca balls in them)! I'm looking everywhere for info on whether drinking green teas/red teas etc while pregnant is ok? Does anyone know? What harm does drinking green tea have on a baby? I feel I should know all this, it is my 3rd baby!!

Tea in moderation is ok, just go easy on very strong brews that might contain a lot of caffeine. Just watch out because a lot of the iced tea drinks have extra caffeine/guarana added to them (esp the 'red tea') so read the label first.

BTW, what's the attraction of having the tapioca in it? Would it just make the drink slimey? I've seen them at the shops and always wondered but never been game to try!

    Hi and congrats!

re : Green Tea - it can inhibit the absorption of folate, so don't drink too much of it per day

Hi Marydean, I never would've thought I would like tapioca but its so addictive! My husband made me give it a try one day. Its like little balls of jelly (yeah they are a little slimy, lol), and tastes like nothing. It freaked me out a little bit at first, but now I'm addicted! Its not for everyone, but give it a try.
