Yes and even then its a bit iffy as they worry that if dates are out baby could be prem and have normal prem issues. So often they want 37+4 or 5.

Hugs hun must be stressful and scary for you xoxo

Yes it's normally 37 but my ob was happy to deliver ds anytime from 35 because it was when my body seems to go into labour, he would have done a c section at anytime if I wasn't coping mentally, he couldnt induce because of my c sect with dd1. Unlike dd2 he didn't put me on medication to stop the labour and we expected ds to arrive within days but he hung in there until term!

None of mine would induce earlier than 37+5. Ds2 was induced at 37+6 even though we were 100% sure of his gestation. Those few days can make a huge difference! Most OBs are happy to do it from 38wks.

Usually they will go a few days past 37 and a half to 38 if its healthy to.Obviously every ob is different but from what most say that's about average. Fwiw I was induced at 38 weeks with dd, id had a bleed though. Obviously if there is serious concerns its a different story.

i think your mental health also has to be taken into consideration by an OB, given this situation anyway, its not just a matter of 'being over it'

I was induced at 37 weeks exactly after discussion with my doctors of my concerns (i had previously lost a baby at 32 weeks). I initially only inquired about the ability to be induced at the earliest "safe" date. My doctor (who is a high risk specialist) advised that from 37 weeks that would be fine. However i think it depends on the doctor, your physical health ( i had gestational diabetes) and your mental wellbeing. My mental wellbeing was not great towards the end and my doctor ended up recommending that i be induced.

If I went for #3 my OB said that she would do a c/s at 37 weeks because I ruptured with DD2 and she wouldn't risk that again. It depends on the individual circumstances I think.

My Ob wants to go at 37 this time due to my rupture last time. I was going to push for longer, but the closer it gets the more anxious I am. I can't imagine how you're feeling.

Agree with OP. Just ask, they won't mind.

Hun as I said to you last night your mental health is vitally important and if at any time you have a breakdown or are super anxious you speak to your OB, he knows your history and I am sure he would do a CS earlier to assist this. Hugs hun xoox

Your Ob is the bomb, just talk to him about it and hopefully you can twist his arm. Xx

Feeb is absolutely right. Your circumstances are different. A previous abruprion would warrent early delivery and that's not even taking into account your mental health. With abruptions ( my sis had one) they will usually, provided its not a dangerously early gestation, want bubs delivered before you reach the gestation if your previous abruption. My guess is your is ob would probably want to deliver around 36-37 weeks anyway.

I had terrible time towards the end with my pg with wee man and I was starting to ask my OB to deliver around 35 weeks, to which of course he refused and assured me everything was going to plan, so we stuck to my planned c/s at exactly 38 weeks. I did ask to be delivered early every time I saw him, I thought it was worth a try. He kept telling me it was better for wee man to be inside than out, especially as I had no issues health wise, it was just my mental state. Have a chat to your OB hun, as if you get that stressed towards the end, it won't be good for either of you.

A friend of mine lost her son at 35 weeks due to unforeseeable circumstances so she was highly monitored at the end with induction initially planned for 35 weeks. Baby was doing well so they pushed it to 37 weeks, and it was bang on 37 weeks.

    Thanks everyone for your replies

My ob has already agreed to c section at 37 weeks. I was just wondering if they would do it a week or the week before iykwim. I guess I just need to ask him again. As for my mental health, I don't want to put the baby at risk because of me.

    Again, thanks everyone x
