re lying on your back...as long as you are not experiencing any symptoms when you do this, then that is fine...if you felt dizzy, nauseas and generally yuck then you simply wouldnt lay on your backthe reason why everyone says not to lay on your back: there is a major blood vessel that runs between the spine and the abdominal contents (and the pregnant uterus) and when the pregnant uterus reaches a certain size this can apply pressure to the blood vessel, reducing oxygenated blood to your body...causing the above symptoms
you may find around 30ish weeks it is no longer comfy to lay on your back
