So I had my OB appointment today and she did an internal and baby is fully engaged but cervix was not yet dialated - now I get home and I have some dark brown blood - is this the "show"?
Do I need to call the midwifes or anything now or do I just wait and see what happens??
Tis very common to have a small amount of blood after an internal. If you start to bleed red blood (that you need a pad for) then you will need to go to hossy...
Thanks Lulu, Sami & Tanya!
Can you tell Im a first timer!! hehehe
Ok I should have thought about the OB maybe losening some things up! DOH!
Thanks again and I will just keep and eye on it.
I had what I thought was a show a few days before my actual show. If your show is anything like what mine was, you'll certainly know. I freaked out coz it was a massive chunck of mucus (TMI), about the size of a golf ball from memory. I rang my mum when it happened coz I didn't know what was going on at the time. I'd heard about the show but didn't know what to expect. But it wont be long.
Also, for me, I had contractions for the whole day when I had my show, then the following day I was fine, then in the middle of the night my waters broke and I went into proper labour.
I had no blood in my show either which is why I didn't realise that's what it was.
Hahahaha yep u would definatly know if it was ur show - i really freaked out too! its horrible! and mine was pretty big also - came out just after my waters broke - good thing that i was already at hospital cause i had a big panic attack!
Good luck with everything - hope it all happens soon for u - and my piece of advice - is try and enjoy it as much as u can cause it will be over before u know it - wish someone had of told me that - cause now i have regrets!
A show would have fresh blood not old blood in it. Mine came out all day in small amounts so it won't necessarily be a big chunk like some of the posters have experienced.
