HCG Level Explanation ?

Hi All,

As this is bub #1 for us just curious on the increase in HCG levels ... last wed i was 4wks pg and my levels were recorded on b/t at 475. Yesterday at 5wks my gp sent me for another test and the levels came back over 6,000 .... is that the general rate of increase ???

Hard to try and get your head around all this numbers info !!!

General rate of increase is about a doubling every couple of days.

congrats on the pregnancy .. the levels sound just fine ... they are going up which is what you want ... maybe go for a dating scan the high levels could mean you are further along or twins !!

we went through IVF so definitely know our dates are 100% correct - they monitor every little bit lolol .... but yeah when i read it yesterday i was like woah - even DH went what the ?!? lol

Melsta - have a look under the Pregnancy Belly Buddies and then First Trimester General Discussion and you will find a sticky about the general range for HCG in early pregnancy. Sorry I should have pointed it out before but I forgot where it was.
