Wow Kellie!! Your situation is giving me serious goosebumps!! Good luck with everything, I will be thinking of you and hoping you get the birth that you want.
Hiccups down on your hips sounds very positive!
lilias if your in Dubbo anytime soon why don't you pop into the labour ward there and get a scan done for piece of mind! They have a mobile one which most midwives are skilled in using. To my Knowledge Cobar actually doesn't have a midwife (they have a child and family health nurse who isn't a midwife and 1 retired midwife who probably hasn't seen a baby born in 30years the rest are all RN's) If bub does decide to come and your not able to make it out of town then don't worry. Your body can do this and will do it the way its suppose to and cnaces are bub will come out head first.
The protein I wouldn't worry about. In small amounts its quite normal especially if its not on the increase and not accompanied by other signs of pre-eclampsia.
Thanks Mildez! You know the area well!! I won't be in Dubbo anytime soon, well not until I am on my way to Sydney anyway (on the 9/1/11), and if we're going to be going to Sydney, I will just have things done there.
My GP told me there were midwives at the hossy, tho I wouldn't be surprised if he was wrong. I'm not too worried if I go into labour here. I know I can go to the hossy, and my births are usually very straight forward. I figure a normal doctor and nurse can handle a straight forward birth. I am just worried about a breech birth. Obviously if bub were still breech, I would much prefer to be in a hossy where there are OB's and midwives who are experienced in it all. But then, I don't know if there are docotrs or nurses at the hospital where I will be birthing who would do a breech birth any way! I would be willing to try to do it, I'd prefer a breech birth much more so than have a C/S (Can anyone say irrational fears??!!).
But on the upside, I'm pretty sure bubs has moved...where to I'm totally not sure but his head seems to be no longer in my ribs. And I'm pretty sure the movements I am feeling in the top, front of my belly are feet or knees.....there seems to be two of them moving in different ways at the same time, lol! I think he might be posterior with his head down near my left hip...maybe! I will continue to do the exercises and body positioning though, I might go and lay on my tummy in our (waaayyy too small for my huge butt) bath!
Thankyou everyone for your experiences, suggestions and support. It is helping me in my time of freaking out!!!
My DH is from Cobar but we don't live there. Lillian Brady (who my DH knows very well) has tried to recruit me to Cobar to assist with birthing services as apparently there are no practicing midwives there at this time.
Yes the Drs there and nurses would be able to catch if bub is born there. I'm sure thats all that would need to be done and you would birth beautifully where ever you are and they would have any equipment that is needed not that it should be. In saying all this bubba will probably stay put and you can deliver in Sydney as planned.
Thanks Mildez! I am hoping baby stays put! And if you ever do decide to make the trek out here to the sticks, I will be around and you're more than welcome to visit
Well I had my antenatal appt today, and doc said bubs HAS turned back again. YAY!!! All of my reflux-inducing, gravity defying hip inclining did the trick, lol! He also said babys head is well down in the pelvis, though not yet engaged....and he's posterior! But I can cope with all of that. He will turn, and if not, at least he's head down. I'm just hoping he doesn't decide it was fun being the right way up....little devil!
Lilias glad to hear he is head down again. I am heading out there next in April when I expect my bub will be all of a few days/weeks old at most. Would love to meet if your still there. Poor DH hasn't been able to drag me out there since we found out I have a placenta problem and I just can't go knowing Dubbo is the closest delivering hospital that has blood available (as they expect me to bleed way to well when the placenta comes away (if it does). Our bub is also getting Baptised there also but I don't know when.
Not long now until you head off. Hope the trip treats you all well.
