    afternoon girls...

sorry i didnt get on last night..

csab sorry have already seen this in the jan thread...

so scan came up with good and bad news...

    good news...

baby girl has turned and is now head down bum up!!
she is measuring as she should and the placenta is now out of the way as well!!!
looks like she is averaging about 1.3kg so a nice size according to the US tech...

    bad news...

my cervix looks to be on a downhill spiral....

at my 20w scan it was 4.2cm which for me is awsome! now its at 2.4cm, which considering our situation isnt a good position....
i have 9mm between my stitch and baby's head and that part of the cervix is closed so thats a good start..

so we are stareing down the barrel of a stint of bed rest, quite possibly in hospital, which im not thrilled about..

see my OB at 530 so ill hopefully know more then!

Thats ok Crumpet hun, you see my dbl posts, lol. Also its help with the memory refresher. I hope your ok. Hugs

Well finally got through the day at the hospital. Anyhow had the Physician first, now he seems concerned with how things are going and now wants me to see him weekly. Then it was the endocronolgist, and she has decided to bump up my insulin at lunch time again now to 10units, and has also put me on night time insulin which now I have to go tomorrow for the diabetes education again to get shown the night time one. That is for tomorrow. Then it was the OB, baby Dr, and due to me not feeling bubs as much as they would like, as i had mentioned it to the Endo Dr, wanted to check bubs on the CTG thingy for about 30mins, yet as bub is still abit small was a bit of a drama, as bub kept moving away from it. lol. I kept saying that I am sure it is just because bubs is small and the placenta is in the way, but they wanted to be safe. So anyhow, the Endo Dr wanted me to see her again next week too, and due to the u/s on Tuesday coming, the OB is also on the list of Dr's again. Ohh yes, I was also given a kick chart, now this is going to be fun as most of the movements bub makes I also dont feel, and they wanted actually full on movements not just taps. Ohhh well, will try my best. lol.
Ohh and they are still contemplating the 35-36wks mark delivery of bubs, and if you all can believe it, I could have bubs in just 6-7wks time, omg....... So soon.
    Lots of hugs lovelies.

ok ladies grab a cuppa coz this bit could be long.....

    so OB appt last night....
    looooooots of stuff happened OMG.....
so to start with.. iron levels are virtually non existent so im on a double does of iron, im sure my OB never wants me to ***** again!
my vitamin D are the same so im on a double dose of that too.....
i dont have gest diabetes so that was very exciting!! my group B swab was a negative so that was good too..... and my BP oh boy my BP its low, really low 90/40...which became quite evident at ante natal classes, but ill add that story at the bottom....

    so now my cervix.....
so as we all know ive been over doing things, and OB wasnt a happy man, i got the look over the glasses!!! oooppsie!!
so we have been warned that it is possible she could come at any time, BUT he thinks we should get to ...32-34 weeks and thats the aim atm...
we are aiming for 30w at this point and then after that 32 and then 34 and then after 34 he said he doesnt care what happens!! LOL....
so we are preparing ourselfs for a earlier arrival than we though and to be honest the likelyhood of hitting 37 is well not likely, but miracles happen.
so he said bed rest at home for 4 weeks, and unless my cervix hits 1.7cm he wont put me into hospital, so i have 8mm to play with.
he is happy its closed above the stitch so thats a good thing.
if my braxton hiocks increase im back on drugs to stop that coz he isnt happy there is action going on there coz that wont help keep my cervix quiet. so i just have to sit back relax and hope to god we get past 30-32 weeks....
i am totally expecting her to be here by 34 weeks i just have a feeling i wont get any further than 34 35 max....

so then we went and had dinner and then back to the hospital for ante natal classes, which proved to be interesting!!
the middie running it promised us a placenta to look at, so we all go and stand in the hall way at the delivery suits and she brings it out....
mean while im feeling hot and dizzy from standing still...
placenta looks well feral and that didnt bother me she was moving it round showing this that and everything else and i nearly ended up on the floor!!!
i had to go and sit back down in the room.... so everyone comes in and i feel like a twit coz they all prob assumed it was from the placenta but it was my BP playing up!! the middie ended up asking me if i was ok at one point coz i lost all colour in my face and could barely keep my eyes open, my hands we sooooooo sweaty and i kept gagging!!!
so needless to say we left at half time and came home and got into bed!!!

Gee Crumpet hun, by the sounds of it we both couls end up having bubs earlier than expected. Do as your told hun and stay rested. Bed rest ok. TBH I am actually abit worried if my bub doesnt gain like they want that they end up putting me in hospy on bed rest. I have heard a few stories about people with bub who are IUGR they sometimes put them in hopsital on bed rest to see if that helps get bubs to gain weight.. Will be interesting to see where bubs at next week.
Now dont do anything else hun and let Dh look after you. Hugs hun.

Well afm, had my education class for the night time injections and my goodness the injection device is like this huge dial, which looks a bit scary but is pretty much ok, just looks scary.hehehe. Anyhow thats it for me today. Hope everyone is ok.

    Hi all

Crumpet - sorry about the cervix news, it's so worrying isn't it. Glad she has turned though. I have to do the bed rest soon as well. Sorry had a laugh about the iron (just the way you worded it), you poor thing, you'll have to dose up on senna, as well. Pooer you with the placenta performance, you'll never see these people again, doesn't matter what they think.

Csab - what a performance with the appt's, at least you are getting well looked after. Wow a baby in a few weeks time, hope you are prepared.

afm - Here's the story so far. I have had a stressful few weeks of worrying after they told me at the 20 week ultrasound that my c-section scar was only measuring 2mm thick. I have had a couple of subsequent scans and my Ob has assured me that the Sonographer has measured the wrong bit, the scar today was 1cm (10mm) thick, the guy last time had measured a portion of the uterus that sits much lower down, and apparently is quite thin at this stage of the pregnancy. I have also had to spent a night in hospital about 10 days ago just with scar pain, I needed a scan the next day. The Sonographer then told me I had a shortened cervix, only measuring 2.1cm, so I have had 10 days of worry waiting for my Ob to come back of his Hols. Today at my scan, the cervix now looks long and closed (about 3cm). So don't know what is going on there. I am going to be totally grey by the time this pregnancy is done. I am still having to take it easy at the mo, and am trying to rest up a little, although this isn't easy with 4 kids 7 and under, and just having the 2 weeks school hols. I will see the Ob again in 2 weeks, but think bed rest in hospital will be soon, probably from about 28 weeks on. I too will be delivering early, aim to get me too 34 weeks.

    take care all
