My sister has had 4 - 3 living children, one stillborn - and will probably have one more.

I saw on one of the morning shows one day that a lady had 11 c-sections!!!! So I would say its how your uterus looks and how your body copes with it that determines how many you can have.

Was that the lady with 13 kids ? i may have seen that but only the tail end of the show. I hope your sisters still born was not due to c-section. I couldn't ever imagine having to go through something like that

my mum had 4 c-sections & was recommended not to have anymore as her scar tissue was too thin!

i think it depends on the individual as to how many they can have & how their body recovers!

i hope you find the answers u are after

i have had 4 c-sections and the dr still hasnt told me not to have anymore. i do know that it comes down to the scaring tissue how that heals some people it heals good others it dosent i know when i had my last c-section they did both epi and spinal block as they said it can take longer to perform the c-section and also before i had it done the pumped into you all the things that can go wrong (more then what they did other times) which frighted the living crap out of me but i do know of people who have had 2 and 3 sections being told not to have any more so i say as long as the dr dosent say no more and you would like more kids well keep going. i also found each c-section it got easier and easier with the pain and healing. Also the last c-section the used staples instead of stitches as they said as the scaring is thicker it would be safer to use staples

my mum had 4 c-sections and the doctor told her that she shouldn't have had more than 3 however that was 19 yrs ago. but i've read as long as you get checked out and everything is fine it doesn't matter how many c-sections you have nowadays.

Not to put a damper on the party or anything, but there are slightly more risks associated with the more c/s you have. A woman I know IRL is pg with #4 and she is classed as high risk with this pg as it will be her 4th c/s and she cannot birth at the hospital where she had her previous three, and the next hospital which will take her is 1hr further away. The risk of maternal and infant death also rises with each c/s, but the percentage is only small but nonetheless something you have to factor in when deciding to have more babies as with any situation. Even though other women have had more than three or whatever, you still have to weigh it up based on your circumstances - recovery time, scar tissue etc.

why would it increase the chances of death? is due to scar tissue or some thing?
