Dh only touches it when we are in bed and then he'll do it until we're asleep. This is also when bub is awake and active so he'll play games with him then too. But he only started doing this around a month ago. Before that he wouldnt so i asked why and he said he didnt feel bonded to bub and was scared of how he'd handle 3 kids! But after a little chat he got over it.

DH will only touch my bump in the morning. All other times it is me pulling his hand to feel bubs. Same with last pregnancy too. Infact it wasnt' until DD2 was 6 weeks that he bonded. I would like to say though that he is a fab father and loves her with all of his heart. Definite daddies girl. So I have just come to accept he's not the touchy feely type.

Funny I found this thread. Just yesterday I said to DH that there was a photo on facebook of our friends who are preg, and they were standing together and he had one arm around her and one on the bump . I asked DH why can't he do that to me!!!!!

    How interesting this thread is!
I don't have a massive bump yet (but a pretty generous sized tummy, LOL!) and DH does occasionally give my belly a rub. TBH, I don't like it overly much! I am not as tactile a person as DH and after having been married this long he's pretty aware of it. So once bubs is bigger and can be felt from the outside I will tell DH so he can feel it too, but apart from that, I really don't care if he touches me or not!

DF loves touching the bump. He can't get enough of it, and tbh I love it when we're down the street and he moves past me and just brushes his hand over it, makes me feel all gooey inside lol
He also can't wait until bub is out either so he can give him cuddles, so I guess it's his way of cuddling bub before he's born.

On the odd occasion Andy will... but not usually. If I tell him where there's movement he will. To be honest I'd actually find it really annoying if he was touching, rubbing, feeling my bump all the time. lol. That's just me though...and maybe cos it's sooooo hot too.

Lulu... dare I ask what he used to paint your bump with??? lol.... hmmmm.

My dh touched my bump all the time, whenever we were at home snuggling on the couch, or me cleaning he would come up and rub and hold my belly. We'd be at the shops and he'd put his hand on my belly. I found it embarrassing in public but my dh said he wanted to show the world this is his baby and was proud of it. I liked him being touchy with my belly its really the only thing that could make him close to his unborn child. He used to always say i was a baby hog while i was pregnant. I had the baby to myself all day and when he was around me it was his turn. I liked it, it made us closer as a couple.

Nup....rarely here unless i ask for him to touch..
Same here for both my pregnancies, I felt like I was the only one excited not only about the baby itself but also the miracle of pregnancy & a baby living & growing inside my belly.

I feel very alone when I'm pregnant but at least I have the baby for company & unconditional love.... along with my children

    So you're not alone

Last night while watching McLeods Daughters. I was crying cause Alex died and Stevie was so heavily pregnant. So DH said don't get upset or bump will be upset so he put his hand on bump and I put my hand over the top so he would keep it there. He kept his hand there for about 15 minutes and bump loved it and was playing with DH hand. Thats the longest he has kept his hand there. It was great. i find his touch so comforting and I am sure that bump does too. I hope he does it more cause we really only have 3-4 weeks tops left before this pregnancy is all over.

I don't remember DP touching my bump at all which is perhaps why DD got cross with him and used to kick him in the back when we were in bed spooning - probably want to jolt him into giving her attention! But he is a very good dad.

    oh i feel your pain!

DP is not into touching or stroking bump or really talking to it at all. I have to grab his hand when we're in bed when the baby is kicking so he can feel it. He's just not that into it. I think it's really hard for men cos they don't get to 'feel' preg that maybe it's not really real til the baby is here.

I know DP is super excited to meet the baby but i think to him it's just a tummy that's getting bigger.
