I think for me when it comes to skirting the rules of safe eating during pregnancy it's about minimising the chances - for example, if I'm going to be naughty and slightly undercook my egg, it's in my own home, I know the eggs are fresh and have been handled properly. Rather than buying a bacon and egg sanger from the local deli that's been sitting in a bain marie that I haven't seen prepared or prepared myself. Or I'll cook up my own potato salad rather than the pre-prepared gunk they sell in shopping centre food courts. Tastes better anyway and means I can use mayo that's been pasteurised and is safe.
It does make eating out a little problematic sometimes, but it really comes down to being sensible and avoiding anything that's completely dodgy.
