    Question Listeria - custard tarts?

    Hi everyone,

My MIL brought over morning tea this morning and although I have eaten the mini versions once or twice this prg, it suddenly occurred to me that custard tarts might not be OK (listeria risk) - does anyone know??

I thought it best to wait till I find out so I didn't have any but boy would I love to!!

My understanding was because they were baked, they were okay? I used to eat them <slams wrists> when I was pg. Oops

Yeah, I agree with Sushee. As they are baked I would consider them OK.

There have been a few things I have eaten this pregnancy and only later thought "Doh, shouldnt have eaten that". Still getting the hang of this .....

I had sashimi during my TWW with Charlie's pg! Did a hpt on 11dpo, came back -ve and figured it was another busted cycle, so I went out for Japanese and ate a tonne of raw fish. Two days later my BT came back +ve and I worried for the next 8 months!

Willow I feel quite sure they would be fine (and I have eaten them too!)

LIsteria thrives in a cold /cool environment and the ph needs to be a certain level. Neither of those things are an issue with custard tarts. So, I say pop on the kettle and crack open that tart!

Ew - black rose that is NOT good!

I only ever eat from places I know and trust when I'm prg. Ultra paranoid about this stuff.
