Sorry to hear you're so sick Dan. I understand why you don't want to go to hospital but you definitely need to get some fluids into you. Can you maybe go to your GP and ask for a shot of maxalon and see if that settles your stomach enough that you can then go home and start fluids? It may be enough to avoid a drip. I got a few maxalon shots with both my girls and they gave almost immediate relief - never thought I would voluntarily go to a doctor asking for a needle but they were a real lifesaver for me. I did end up on a drip once and again, felt a whole lot better quite quickly so hang in there - there is an end to the awfulness.

Thanks for all the advice and help everyone. I bit the bullet and went down to A & E. I got in trouble for leaving it so long, OOPS. I had three litres of IV fluid before I could wee. They gave me zofran, maxalon and kytril. I'm feeling a million times better and they have sent me home with a drug mixture so hopefully that will help me get on top of it. I've been having small sips of fluids and keep it all down . I have to go back if it gets bad again. The A & E staff were great and didn't even put my name on the board and keep it quiet which was do good of them.
    Thanks once again ladies.
