We're going, but I don't know that either Saturday or Sunday is better.

We went to the Pregnancy, Birth and Baby Show when we were about 9 weeks pregnant and it was good, but can be a bit overwhelming. There is a LOT of marketing for stuff that you probably don't need. You might like to have a list of things you want to look at, and focus on them. We went looking for cloth nappies and there are a LOT of brands, so it can get a bit much.

As far as savings go...I'm not an expert on that. We didn't buy ANYTHING at the show, but took a lot of pamphlets away with us. We started a folder of product pamphlets so that we can look at them as we go, and compare products when we need to. I've found the internet it just as useful as the Baby Show, except that at the Show everything is in the one place.

Have fun! Take lots of water, don't tucker yourself out, and perhaps I'll see you there!

5-7 March, at the Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton.

We're probably going to be there on Saturday as we'll be packing for our holiday on the Sunday.

We saved at the baby expo in October...medela were there and had a special on their breastpumps....got one for as cheap as ebay type thing...also itti bitti were there so got a heap of nappies.....there are bargains to be had at some stands but i found you needed to know beforehand what you were looking for.....otherwise it was just too big and overhwleming...for example we skipped most of the bottle feeding/formula stands and sposie nappie stands, stuff like that and as we knew what pram we wanted we just quickly browsed those stands whereas we could have spent literally hours if we roadtested all of them!!

    Re: Melbourne Baby show

I went to the last one in Melbourne when I was around 35 weeks pregnant. It can be very overwhelming with lots of people, prams and noise.

We had already bought most of our baby stuff by this point. However I was annoyed as lots was on special at the baby show. We could have saved heaps.

If you have done your research and know what you want I think it is worthwhile.

Also, I got a free ticket at Priceline when I bought something the other day. Save the $20 entry fee!

    arh the temptation!

I will be looking at bed linin too as i can only find the dwell ones that i like in the US!

I've never heard of it! I agree to have a list of things you're looking for. I've bought nappy bags from Baby expos for cheaper, there are often buy two get one free sort of deals. If you buy something for full price, you might get something else thrown in. Or competitions to enter.

Loula - just gotta say how much I LOVE the thought of you wandering all over the expo, all preggers...and spending craploads of stuff you probably won't need and loving every minute of it.

Have the BEST time at the expo xoxoxoxo

I nicked of list of stuff we might need for bub off TeniBear a litle while ago. DH and I are going through it sometime this week and decide what we can buy off ebay and what we'll need new. Then we're going to take the list with us on Saturday and see how we go. I'm not expecting to buy much unless it's cheap, but will spend the time researching and entering competitions.

Then we'll go baby shopping on Sunday maybe to layby the big stuff.

DH can't really cope with more than 2-3 hours at expos (he was very good at not suffering too much at a wedding expo) and I need my afternoon nap, so we're planning on getting in early and see as much as we can before we're run over by too many prams

I am trying to convince myself to go as it might be my last chance to attend something like this for a while... I think I might need to get one of they half price tickets though, no way I am spending $20 entrance fee! that is ridiculous!
